Create circuit diagrams or turn them into a question

What this lets you do

One circuit editor, two different jobs

Circuit gives you an editable diagram for explanations, worksheets and other supported material. Save keeps its structure and creates the clean preview used in the material.

Circuit drawing task opens the same editor for the learner. Their submitted circuit appears as a visual response for the teacher to review and grade manually.

1 Choose the circuit type

Create a diagram or ask students to build the answer

Choose Circuit when you need an editable diagram inside your material. You can also open Circuit from Tools & references for a focused workspace.

Choose Circuit drawing task when students should submit a circuit they build themselves. It adds a question prompt and uses the same circuit editor for the learner response.

2 Build the circuit

Drag components onto the canvas and connect them

Choose components such as Battery, Resistor, Switch (Open), Lamp, Voltmeter, or Ammeter from the Components panel. Drag them onto the dotted canvas, position them, and connect the handles.

Select a component to rotate or flip it, enter its electrical value and unit, or show its label. Switches can change between open and closed, and batteries can show one, two, or three cells.

3 Keep the diagram

Save the editable Circuit with a clean preview

For Circuit content, Save keeps the underlying components and connections and creates the clean preview shown in Praktikal material. Reopen it with Edit circuit when the diagram needs to change.

The saved diagram has a dedicated print view. Export as PNG and Export as SVG create separate copies rather than replacing the editable Circuit in your material.

4 Collect the answer

Let students build a circuit, then review the drawing

In Circuit drawing task, the learner selects Create answer circuit, builds in the Answer circuit editor, and saves the drawing back to the question. They can reopen it with Edit answer circuit before submitting.

Teacher results retain each submitted circuit as a visual response for manual review. A teacher-authored correct circuit can be shown as a reference, but Praktikal does not automatically compare the components or connections or mark the answer correct.

  • Submitted circuits stay visible in teacher results.
  • Review and grading remain manual.
