Give every learner an onscreen maths keyboard
Learners can enter numbers, fractions, powers, roots, operators and equations from the built-in keyboard. The answer is stored as mathematical notation, without asking anyone to type raw LaTeX.

2 Collect the method
Let learners write their process or upload work from paper
When the method matters, learners can write their solution process alongside the mathematical answer. They can also photograph handwritten working on paper and attach the image to the same submission.

3 Set accepted maths
Define the answers the assessment should compare
Enter one or more accepted formulae with the same maths input. Praktikal keeps the mathematical answer key with the question and uses it when a response is submitted.

4 Assess the maths
Compare mathematical meaning, not just typed characters
For a complete response, Praktikal parses the submitted expression and compares it with the accepted formulae. An exact structural match can be marked correct automatically; a mathematically equivalent form is recognised and surfaced for review.
