Assess where each item belongs
Drag & drop is a structured placement question. You create the item pool, position the correct target for each answer and decide whether the task needs distractors.
Learners arrange the pieces directly on the image. Their submission keeps the placements visible and can be checked automatically against your target map.
1 Build the task
Create the background and answer pieces
Open the Drag & Drop Editor and add the background learners will work on. Create answer pieces from labels, uploaded images or cut-outs from the source image.
Keep each piece large and distinct enough to place confidently. Add distractors only when they serve the task rather than adding visual noise.
2 Define the answer
Place a target zone for every correct item
Move and resize each target zone over the part of the image where its answer piece belongs. The mapping between item and zone becomes the answer Praktikal checks.
Leave distractors without a correct target. Review the complete target map before saving so an ambiguous overlap does not become part of the assessment.
3 Learner response
Let learners place the items, then submit
Learners drag each label, image or cut-out from the item pool onto the background. They can adjust the arrangement before submitting the response.
The submission records which item reached which target. A remaining distractor can stay outside the answer zones.
4 Check placements
See the result for each configured target
Praktikal compares the submitted items with the target mapping you authored. Correct placements can be scored automatically while misplaced items remain visible in the result.
Review the response by target to see what the learner placed and where. The structure is useful when position itself is the evidence you need to assess.
